Have you ever wondered which region in the Americas sends the largest number of international migrants? Or where international migrants from Africa have headed? Or the home countries of migrants to Europe? Our updated World Migration Map Data Tool provides new analysis of the World Bank’s Bilateral Migration Matrix (2010) developed by Dilip Ratha, Sanket Mohapatra, and Ani Silwal of the World Bank’s Development Prospects Group, allowing you to learn about key origins and destinations for international migrants. To view the chart showing the number of international migrants by sending region, click the tab “Sending Regions,” and by receiving region click “Destination Regions.” Then click on the region of interest on the navigation map. Note: Although every effort was made to ensure the accuracy of the data, inconsistencies may arise due to assumptions made during the development of the Bilateral Migration Matrix. We encourage you to read more about data issues here. Click on a Sending Region
